Customer Review: Don't believe the photo, but it's still not too bad for the price

I ordered this Vanguard Trikon CK Photo/Video Tripod and Bag Kit based mainly on the fact that the price was cheap and it looked decent in the photo.
Well, the tripod I received is visibly different and obviously not as nice as what they have pictured here. It is similar, but definitely not the one in the picture. Cheaper hardware is the only way I can explain it.
Although I am a bit disappointed, overall it's not a big deal because this is for casual use and I'm not a professional photographer.
If all you want is something affordable and very light-weight for easy travel and to give you steadier still pics, than go for it - you'll be fine.
But if you want to do video, get yourself something much better. Panning and tilting with this during video is jittery - the cheap plastic rigging is stiff (yes, I did loosen all of the adjustments for free movement) and it creaks. Not only will your tilting/panning produce jerky video, but your microphone will pick up the creaky noises from the cheap plastic rigging.
Fine for a quick cheap solution to amateur still shot stuff and for the price, but that's about it.
